Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) contains anthocyanosides (which gives it its dark blue colour) which improves significantly the blood circulation in the ocular capillaries. These substances are also applied within the process of the rhodopsin regeneration; and protect the eyes against an excessive sun exposure.
Bilberry berries are also rich in tannin, bioflavanoids, pectins, vitamin A, C and E, mineral salts and myrtilin, which are beneficial to the health.
