NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme rich in energy, which is essential to the ATP production, the primary energy transporters in our cells. It plays an important within many vital functions: it nourishes the cells, stimulates the neurotransmitter production (dopamine and adrenalin) and, furthermore, it is a strong antioxidant. NADH is essential to several biochemical reactions and to the function of approximately 200 enzymes.
The brain, the nerves, the muscles and the heart require a constant energy provision in order to function. A NADH deficiency could result in an energy deficiency within the cells, of which symptoms are fatigue and depression. It is generally admitted that the dopamine and noradrenalin levels are often low within the brains of depressive people. Furthermore, studies show that, within depressed or demented people, the energy production in the brain is often reduced. NADH through its implication in the ATP production (molecule which brings energy), improves significantly the energetic state of the brain and brings a beneficial effect to 93% of depressed patients.
NADH seems also to be efficient for treating chronic fatigue syndrome and clears away most of the symptoms of the Parkinson disease.
Scientific studies show that a daily intake of 5 mg NADH could improve significantly athletic performances and increase also the maximal aerobic capacity, diminish the time of reaction, stimulate the mental capacity and vigilance.
NADH is derived from vitamin B3. Its concentration diminishes when a lack of vitamin B3 occures, which happens usually within people who ingest regularly big quantities of alcohol.
